WOUND MANAGEMENT LEG TRAINER

This Trainer combines unmatched realism with excellent durability to create a hands-on training experience like no other. The model is designed to feel and react like real human tissue, and its self-healing properties allow for repeated use. The model features multiple wound patterns, including a lifelike severe laceration with a bleed that can be stemmed through the application of a tourniquet. The model also features gunshot entry and exit wounds with bleeds that can be used for wound packing and pressure bandaging training

Applying Tourniquets

The HM – Wound Management Leg Trainer allows the user to complete the following:

• Identify the optimal location on the leg for tourniquet application based on severe laceration location
• Simulate pulsatile blood flow by applying pressure to the IV bag
• Place tourniquet around the leg and tighten windlass to cut off fluid flow

Wound Packing and Applying Pressure Bandages

The HM – Wound Management Leg Trainer allows the user to complete the following:

• Pack gauze deeply into the severe wounds, putting the gauze in contact with the bleeding vessel at the base of the wound to stem the flow of blood
• Feel the bone within the tissue to simulate “packing to the bone”
• Secure a pressure bandage over the wound
